The Maasai Cross-Border Elephant Conservation
Project
A comprehensive, long-term education and outreach project among the Maasai
people to develop a community-based program for protecting the African elephant
in the Kenya-Tanzania cross-border region. For

Maasai Education Pilot Project
Develop a quarterly newsletter written by and published for grassroots communities
of Maasailand and members worldwide to communicate about the environment,
wildlife and habitat issues.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve Ecological
Restoration Project
In order to restore the ecological integrity of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve,
MERC is prepared to lobby for development of a comprehensive management plan
and new laws to control and regulate tourism.
Maasai Environmental Law Scholarship
Program
MERC has secured an agreement from The Center for International Environmental
Law to support half a scholarship for two Maasai to study environmental law.
MERC seeks funding for the other half of this legal training.
MERC Endowment Fund
MERC seeks to establish an endowment fund to sustain its long term wildlife
and community-based programs.
Maasai Cultural Survival Project
MERC seeks to promote cultural awareness and preservation of the Maasai People.
